Tequila Grill: A Vibrant Mexican Dining Experience in Ottumwa

We’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years, and in the last year they’ve truly taken things to the next level. The service is fast, friendly, and attentive, and the food is consistently great. Marco is our favorite server he really cares about the quality of your experience at the restaurant. And let’s be honest… their to-go margaritas are impossible to pass up! This place has become our go-to for both dine-in and takeout. Highly recommend!

Delicious food, and really wonderful waiters. I love the atmosphere and people here. I would say the food is more flavorfull than other nearby Mexican restaurants. Also the drinks, particularly the margaritas are very yummy! Would highly recommend!

Service was good and food was delivered promptly. As you see in the photo I ordered a margarita and the first one was a premade mix from a plastic jug. Super sweet and lacking the tequila flavor or punch. I inquired about it and the bartender said “house tequila” haha It stayed on my table for awhile before my waiter came back. He got with management and they made me the real thing. Hand mixed in a shaker with tequila off-the-shelf. Perhaps you have to ask for a good one when ordering. This place is packed for a Wednesday night. I guess the word is out. Hey it’s good food and if you ask for good drinks they are good to. I recommend trying it.

My husband and I stayed in Ottawa to go to a comedian and we love to have drinks and food at Mexican restaurants. I was reading some of the reviews and someone put that they would rather go 30 minutes to another town and I just have to say this was right down the street from our hotel and it was one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to and we’ve been to quite a few. We live in the Des Moines area, so wish we could be back sooner than later, but we had an absolute amazing experience. Our waiter was on point and everything was delicious. 10/10

Delicious food and fast service what can I say. The place was very busy but they still managed to get us in right away for Mother’s Day. Service was impeccable. Food was really flavorful and delicious. I would definitely recommend this Mexican restaurant!

We had an excellent time at the Tequila Grill. Awesome old building with character, the service was great and the food was fantastic! We went for Mother’s Day and they even were giving out roses. Nice touch…we highly recommend!

The food here is absolutely amazing! Their peach Margarita was perfect! Giovanny our server was very nice and super attentive. My husband and I split Nachos and Fajitas! Everything was perfect! My only complaint is that the sat us at a table by the kitchen/bar, so I was loud and busy. And also there is a door that leads down to the basement and when they leave it open there is a sewer smell. But Everything else was Awesome!!! We will be back!!
